Spam Comment Examples

Apparently, many people do NOT know what kinds of comments are unacceptable. Good thing this page is here, with pictures of comments found as spam. The appearance of this page has been foreshadowed by Spam Comments (Possible Future Page with Examples), which the spammers did NOT read (Of course… Spammers never read warnings…).

For your information, all images and information given will NOT be removed, no matter how much you complain. Don’t want your email address and/or your IP address shown? Then don’t comment on the wrong post, but to be safe, don’t comment at all. And problem solved.

You will find various comments here, along with the comment type and reasons of why it’s spam. This reminds me of reporting email spam. Try to spam me by email, and you will be reported. I will be putting additional notes, so you will know what I think about the spam comments.

By the way, not all spam will be shown, since Akismet is allowed to filter and delete the comments that are real spam, which is described as “worst and most pervasive” in the discussion settings. That does NOT mean that your comments are marked as pending, whatsoever. I will not be able to see those actual spam comments because they would be deleted by Akismet before the comment appears as pending. ‾\(ツ)√

One more thing. The number of IP address reports and what it was reported for were taken from AbuseIPDB at the time I checked (results may be off in the future). Not found yet  no social media accounts, blogs, or other forms of user connection on the Internet with the email address showing at the time I searched them up. Random fact: The location of the commenter can be found with AbuseIPDB’s IP address search, in addition to reports, hosting domain, etc.
Feel free to report the email addresses and IP addresses.

Random thing: If you see “weird name” it means that the submitted name is odd (rather, something people don’t use for accounts) and is common for spam comments. It does not necessarily mean that the comment is spam. Also, “Other Notes” is additional information, but some things in there could fit under “Reason of Spam”. And if you see “domain of email address looks supicious”, it’s because it looks like an ending for a temorary/self-destructing email address.

This page will be updated every time there are unblocked spam comments.

*If you want to correct/add something, or are confused, feel free to ask (on this page).

Capture
IP address: known for web spam, reported once
Email address: not found on other pages yet
Reason of spam:

  • wrong post/page
  • looks like scam (possibly a dating scam)

Other notes:

  • the comment was on a page, not a post (as mentioned in the comment)
  • the usage of the word “touch” makes the commenter creepy
    • sounds like a dating scammer or a possible rapist

    • typical of scams, but the kind of mail is usually specified as email
  • does not mention why they thank me

  • weird name
  • “see this…” looks like advertising

Other notes:

  • “penning”? What’s that?
  • sentences are split up in lines
  • “creative writing”? It’s not creative writing. QTW posts are a question followed by my answer to it. How’s that creative?
    • And how did my stuff inspire someone to create their own blog? It’s more informative on Fantage, not inspirational. Want inspirational stuff? Go look it up somewhere else.
  • link given does not match the submitted website link
    • both/one/none of the links could be for their actual blog(s)

Other notes:

  • Not appropriate for young children. This blog is for a game and is intended for children under 18, not adults.

  • there’s a username, but the site is not specified (could be a game username)

Email address: not found on other pages yet
Reason of spam:

  • not a real ping-back

Other notes:

  • website link (under the submitted name) is suspicious
  • not technically off-topic, but is not a real ping-back (ping-backs do not have “___123___” before and after it)

Comment #17:

IP address: known for Web Spam/Web App Attack/Port Scan/Brute-Force/Bad Web Bot, reported 10 times
Email address: not found on other pages yet
Reason of spam:

  • off-topic

Other notes:

  • website URL gives a 404 “page not found” error, but has been removed before taking screenshot of comment
  • doesn’t mention what “favorite reason” is
  • I’m assuming the commenter took a medical view of my post, hence the “side effects”,  but it’s about Fantage closing, not anything medical-related. (Hello? Read the blog name, please. You’re on the wrong one.)
  • “irked” looks like a typo
  • there are some punctuation/grammar mistakes
  • “to be on the internet” doesn’t make sense
  • “hit the nail” is a metaphor for being on-point, but the main topic was Fantage closing (and there are no points)
  • thanks for what?

Comment #18:

Capture.PNG

IP address: has not been reported yet
Email address: not found on other pages yet
Reason of spam:

  • off-topic
  • link leads to a wiki page (which looks like advertising)

Other notes:

  • what floor? It’s about Fantage, an online game, not real buildings
  • what military? (again, this is a Fantage blog, which is an online game, not one about real stuff)
  • “feel ownership”? how do you feel ownership (you can get it but not feel it…)?
  • “taught to share”? that refers to little children, not adults or the military
  • doesn’t define where “here” is, but can be assumed as where the commenter is
  • I’m confused of what this person/bot meant
  • submitted name matches the one in Comment #1

Comment #19:

Capture.PNG

IP address: known for Web Spam/Blog Spam/Bad Web Bot/Web App Attack, reported 6 times
Email address: not found on other pages yet
Reason of spam:

  • not in English
  • looks like advertising
  • weird name
  • off-topic

Other notes:

  • link leads to a non-English page
    • all linked pages should also be in English
  • is incorrect notation and markup text is disabled.
  • domain of email address looks suspicious
  • What does this have to do with a QTW? Probably a scam, but it’s spam for sure.
  • this is a Fantage blog, not one about money

Comment #20:

Reason of spam:

  • off-topic
  • weird name

Other notes:

  • religious stuff mentioned
    • This blog is mainly about Fantage, not religion. I don’t care about religion.
    • Scammers use religious terms to try to get the victim to “buy” into the money
  • Does not define who the people are.
  • submitted name is a link, not a username or a first/last name
    • the well-known yahoo is a dot-com site, not a dot-org one.
  • Uses “you”. I don’t know you and you don’t know me, so you can’t assume my gender or say something dumb to me.
  • Assumes that I go to their college or that I know about it. I actually don’t because I don’t know you and I don’t want to know.
    • I don’t think “Sunday College” is a real thing…
  • puctuation and grammar is off…
  • similar to Comments #5 and #6

Comment #21:

Capture.PNG

IP address: has not been reported yet
Email address: not found on other pages yet
Reason of spam:

  • way too many links
  • parts are not in English
  • off-topic
  • weird name
  • looks like advertising
  • domain of email address looks suspicious

Other notes:

  • grammar is incorrect (every single word should not be capitalized and no punctuation is present)
  • domain of email address looks like one for temporary mail (or one for spamming)
  • I used black-boxes to block out the links, so no one would visit them (for their safety and protection)
    • I’m going to assume that the links may lead to non-English pages and/or ones that have inappropriate content, malware, etc.
  • I had to zoom out (80% view) because the size of comment is too large
  • does not explain why there are so many links (might have done that, but in the wrong language or is not understandable)
  • could be trying to get money (scamming)
  • overall, the comment looks like a block of text with links and no meaning

    • Also, some links are the same as the ones in Comment #21.
    • Apologies that I forgot to cover one of the links before inserting the picture, so please ignore the link (or report it, if you’d like to)
  • I had to zoom out (80% view) because the size of comment is too large
  • does not explain why there are so many links (might have done that, but is not understandable)

Other notes:

  • IP address has been reported multiple times for the same reason: comment spam
  • This is about a children’s game, not one that’s only for adult (much less a place for advertising them)

    1. I felt like it needed to be posted. They’ll probably not listen and keep spamming, which results in their comments (along with the email and IP addresses) available for the public to see as examples of spam.

            1. Okay. I would suggest to create a page instead of a post, since you don’t need to keep creating a new psot every time there is a spam comment. You can copy my format if you want to.
